Qixing Summer Session! Siiiiick!
This one goes out to the boys and girls of the Qixing Mellow Park!
Over the weekend the indoor ski dome Qixing hosted the third annual Summer Session which consisted of two sections. The first, a slopestyle in 1 hour jam session format, would crown the top local “king of the park”. Then a high Ollie contest would prove the one with the most bounce. Combine the two and the top rider of Shanghai would be named! Who was it? Read on to find out!
The level of riding in Shanghai is improving and had progressed beyond the old park set up, so Mellow Constructions sent in park builders to revamp the area. The addition of a straight rail, kicker line and a “bonk-house” were just what the doctor ordered.The contest got underway at 2pm as a mixture of locals, migrants and foreigners wandered into the freezing cold dome, a nice change from the increasing summer heat outside.
Xiao Nan, who has only been riding for two years, was the champion of the day.He spun 3’s,5’s and 270-on-270-off the fun box.The Qixing Mellow Park is his stomping grounds and he proved he owned it on Saturday.Ken, our happy Swiss friend, came in second with moves like switch FS board slides on the A-box. We still don’t know where he pulls these tricks out of, but we like it! And third place went to Cui Yang from Beijing for a sick and huge 360 and a 270-on the straighty.
The high-ollie was hilarious. After watching some spills and narrowing down the field to two, we hiked the bar up to 1.6 meters! Whoa! Stas from Russia was the first one to execute this daring stunt, and Xiao Nan was the second! Our hearts were racing as we watched on. When a renegade Xiao Wen took one last try and made it! Although he was disqualified earlier, we still give him props for risking his life like that. Prizes were had by all.
Nothing much to report on the female side, we had two girls who entered who both got prizes, but we really hope more girls get involved in the future! Stay tuned for girl coaches at the Fat Saturdays this year! Girl power! Ride like the boys…but look cuter!
Xiao Wen organized a dinner and party (which had more participants that the event, go figure). The learning curve for drinking is a lot easier than snowboarding. Thanks so much as we had an awesome time on the roof top over looking the city. You are the man!

七星夏季单板狂欢! 牛!!!!!!
刚刚过去的这个周末,在七星室内滑雪场举行了第三届的夏季单板狂欢比赛活动,整个赛事分成两个部分.第一部分 和我们以前的赛事一样,一个小时的自由花样单板赛,拼出谁是单板公园里的老大.另外就是Ollie(拔高)赛 ,考验一下选手们的Ollie功底.结合两个不同的比赛形式,看一下谁才是当天的王者?!!!
上海滑手的单板水平在这两年有了长足的进步, 当然少不了单板公园的不断改建和扩充.并且在赛前麦罗公司刚刚对场地进行了全新的维护.新增加了straight rail和“bonk-house”(跳过去的一个道具塑料房子,也可以用板子磕过去),在当天下午2点开始的比赛汇聚了来自各地的滑手和一些国外的单板爱好者.
小南是当天赛事的老大,就是这个只滑了两年单板的上海本地人. 他在比赛中做出了诸如360,540 还有270-上-270-下fun box. 七星麦罗公园是属于他的地盘,这次他在这里做里一回主! Ken,来自瑞士一直保持快乐的朋友,获得了当天的第二名,在A-box 做出了难度极大的反脚FS board slides ,令内行人士看了瞠目结舌.第三名为来自北京的崔阳,为我们表演了高飘的360和270上straight rail等高难动作.
拔高赛事异常惊险刺激, 经过了雪花四溅的一阵决斗后,栏杆的高度也升到了将近1.6米!喔！ 这可不是一般的高度啊~~！来自俄罗斯的Stas首先跳过了这个高度，小南第二个完成，左后还有通过作弊重新加入到竞争中的小闻也顺利跳过了这个高度，赛事组织者考虑到当天兼职赛事摄影师的他的辛苦，还是颁给了他一份奖品！还有很多其他的参赛者以他们不俗的表现赢得了奖品，可以说是皆大欢喜！！！
对于当天女子选手的表现，我们没有可以过多评论的！因为参赛的一共只有两位女选手，我们希望能有更多的女选手加入到单板大家庭中来！今年雪季由麦罗公司主办的“周末雪板狂人会”将教女孩子们怎么在公园场地玩儿！激发女孩子的力量和潜能！女孩子也可以像男孩子一样玩儿单板。。。而且更加的可爱！！！

2006年5月2日，首届银七星中外青年单板挑战赛在诺基亚七星麦罗单板公园盛大开赛，来自欧美多个国家的50多位单板爱好者参加了本次比赛。选手们个个身怀绝技，在空中辗转腾挪，“人板合一”的境界让比赛现场的观众忍不住惊叫连连，掌声也此起彼伏，将雪场笼罩在一片热烈的氛围之中。其中来自银七星青少年滑雪俱乐部的成员获得了好成绩。
